Carnarvon National Park

Cameron and Anita undertook a job last year where they met with Traditional Owners and Parks and Wildlife staff on site at the Mt Moffat section of Carnarvon National Park.

The purpose of this collaborative meeting was to discuss the scope of a project aimed at providing engineering recommendations for the viewing decks and platforms for bushfire protection.

These structures are intended to facilitate the protection of rock art in the area. Cameron’s expertise in engineering and Anita's vegetation and bushfire knowledge was crucial in ensuring that the proposed designs would not only preserve the cultural heritage but also meet safety and environmental standards. C Consulting Engineers undertook a Lidar survey and generated a report including engineering designs to achieve the goals of the project, for structurally sound, bushfire-tolerant viewing platforms that would protect the incredible rock art on site.

This engagement highlights the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with modern engineering and bushfire management practices to achieve sustainable and respectful outcomes.
